Capacity Building Workshop Empowers POP Managers in Resource Mobilization and Project Management
A five-day intensive training workshop on Resource Mobilization and Project Management concluded today on 30 May,2025 at the Malawi School of Government, equipping 3 senior project managers with practical skills to secure funding and manage development projects effectively.
Organized by IM Swedish Development Partner, the training brought together professionals from implementing partners including POP. The program aimed to enhance participants’ abilities to design, fund, and execute sustainable projects aligned with national and global development goals. Key modules covered during the workshop included: Strategic Resource Mobilization Techniques, Proposal Writing and Donor Mapping, Budgeting and Financial Planning, Project Design using the Logical Framework Approach and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER).
Participants expressed enthusiasm about applying their new skills. “The sessions on proposal writing and donor engagement were particularly valuable,” said Tapiwa Kawale, Tilime project officer.
IM Swedish Development Partner indicated plans to scale the training program to other line officers, with follow-up mentorship opportunities for alumni. They emphasized the growing need for capacity development in the nonprofit and development sectors, especially amid tightening global funding landscapes.

The Girls Get Equal Project (GGE) is a performance-based initiative rooted in evidence, with the primary goal of contributing to the reduction of child marriage rates at both district and national levels in Malawi. CLICK HERE to download the newsletter.
This program is a response to the gender inequality and women’s rights violations undermining access to comprehensive, rights-based sexual and reproductive health information and services for adolescent girls and young women in the two districts.
