The UN Youth Strategy and the National Youth Policy emphasize the importance of involving young people in decision-making and development processes. Despite these frameworks, youth participation remains constrained by high unemployment rates and a gap between education and job market needs.

The National Youth Policy outlines measures to enhance youth engagement, including access to education, vocational training and involvement in community development. However, youth unemployment is approximately 20%, with many facing barriers such as inadequate vocational training and limited entrepreneurial opportunities. POP’s initiatives are designed to bridge these gaps by promoting skills development, supporting entrepreneurship and creating platforms for meaningful youth engagement in governance and community activities.
